Gang,

Have you ever heard of Rio Mar, Puerto Rico? I happened to be vacationing there last week and ran into someone who had won several rounds of golf. Imagine a rookie (only played about 4 times) like me playing the 'River' course with iguanas and palm trees everywhere you looked. It was incredible! It was like a ghost town and my pal was patient enough to teach me a few things and deal with my newbieness

If anyone ever gets out there, play either the River or Ocean courses (the latter of which has a reputation for muddiness around this time of year)!!!!

Supposedly, Greg Norman has some sort of interest in the Rio Mar Country Club.....not sure, though.

Regards,

jh

hey man,
Im hispanic decent so Rio Mar translates into River Ocean, Puerto Rico. Ive actually never been there but Ive seen the golf courses and they are insane. Beach as a sand trap, fairways canopyed by palm trees. Narrow fairways but very picturesque

I played the Ocean course a few years back. Loved it, but I struggled a bit with the almost hurricane winds at the time. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Do you remember what the green fees were when you played there? I've been to PR, but not since I started playing golf. Thanks in advance for the information.

I played for free, as my friend had won free golf over there. However, I think the prices were pretty steep!

Can't help you. I was basically comp'd for 3-4 rounds that I played. I'd stay at the resort for the best deal.
