Aimee, I'm looking at the symptoms you list in this quote. I don't think insurance or anyone will pay for what was obviously a "pre existing condition."

Played in a Corporate Outing yesterday. Really nice club, the weather couldn't have been nicer. Hard to tell how I was playing since it was "best ball" but I hit some good ones for the team... But the headline for today's round: YAY, I shot 89 again! So I guess I didn't need to be worried that it would take until the end of June to get my better game back (not my "A" game, that hasn't happened yet, let's call it a solid "B+" ) Only 4 GIR's (but a lot were just off the green, on the fringe), 31 putts. 5212 yards from forward tees. Par 72.

Aimee: thanks for the reply. 5200 is fairly short, even for the red tees. The courses my wife and I play, measure from the reds, 5417,5650 and 5919. Sounds like a great place to improve your game. As the shortest course of those you play, you can always play the other courses more later as you break 85 and 80. Or you can move back to the Gold tees when you break 80 next month. Again, good way to go, keep it up.
Bill: Not to bad for one of us old guys. We have a tee time for Wednesday so I'll see if the last two rounds were luck or if I'm starting to get the hand of this fool game finally.

Don, I'm not sure it's appropriate to talk about your personal life on this forum!!! But, for what it's worth, I'm certainly happy for both of you. Bill

Don, it's great that your wife plays golf too! In my case, Melanie's not interested in going out for golf, but she does play some pretty mean Tiger Woods Golf on the Gamecube, so we have fun with that. Have any of you ever played the Tiger Woods video games? They're pretty awesome, and very realistic. It makes a nice virtual substitute when I'm swamped at the studio. In fact, though I shouldn't report it as a "round," I did play golf in my sleep the other night, and the dream had all the qualities of the video game. It was great, I was bombing drives 400 yards, then I woke up. I'm really "champing at the bit" to get out for an actual round again, been working like a demon. Though I had 2-3 days off in the last 2 weeks (and did golf) I had, in the remaining 11 days, worked 140 hrs! That's almost a month of 8 hr. days crammed into 11 days. Just yesterday, I had most of the day off, but did have a Big Band recording session in the evening. My plan was to golf before work... but for the first time in a year, I was simply too tired to go out... I had posted in a recent thread the topic of "How Much is Too Much? (Golf, that is.)" Well, I just found out "How Much is Too Much Work!" Keep posting your rounds, so I can vicariously enjoy some golf!

Wade: I think it's Golfsmith, but I'm not sure, that sells a swing analilizer that you can hook up to one of those Golf games on your computer. With this ball hanging on a stick swing thingy, you can play a round of golf just like the Tiger Woods game, but instead of using a mouse or keypad, you hit a shot with the swing analizer. Don't know how well it works, but it sounds a lot better than using a keypad or mouse. If you have room to swing a club indoors, it could make for some decent practice when you're stuck at work.

Today I played in our city tournament. I was on pace for mid to high 80's, until my 3rd to last hole. I put three shots in the water and ended with an eleven on a par 4. Next hole i was still frustrated and got a seven on a par 3. If your good at math, that's eleven over on 2 holes. I ended up with a 97. I also had more t han 40 putts for the first time this year.

"Doh!!" Well... that's a bummer. But in golf you know, it could have always been worse. Playing in a tournament kinda makes it hard to be a scratch golfer: "Write down all your good scores and scratch out the bad ones!" Actually, except for the tragic ending, it sounds like your round was good, then the two holes from hell... And just remember, "Real golfers don't miss putts, they get robbed."

I went out and played a quick 9 at my home course last night. I play a relatively tight course with a slope/rating of 72.2/129 from the Blues which i generally play. It's not a long course by any means measuring only about 6000 yards from the blues, and about 6400 from the tips. I scratched out a 41 playing the front 9 last night. didn't putt particularly well, that is to say i didn't make anything.. Only putt i made that wasn't a tap in was a 4 foot par save after a nice bunker shot on the 4th hole. I butchered a 200 yard par 3 for my only double, and ended the night w/ back to back bogey's. Hope everyone else is scoring better than I!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Ladies out there. Doing to play some golf with the wife today. One of the city courses offers free golf for woman on Mother's Day, and we're taking advantage. Went to a free demo day yesterday, and demoed some clubs. Hit the FT3, Ping G5, TM R7-460, and Nike drivers. Didn't find any thing that was giving me better results than my G2 that I took along to compare against. Of those I hit, I'd say the R7-460 was about the closest to being equal to my G2 in terms of ball flight. Nice driver. Tried some iron, wasn't too impressed with the Nike Pro Combo's, but the Callaway X-Tours were real nice. Supposed to be the most workable and less forgiving of the Callaway line, but I wasn't having any problems with them, so it's an option should I decide to get a new set of irons some day.

It was 56º, light rain, and a 20 MPH wind, but dammit, I was gonna play no matter what today! Played my home course. There were only a few people there, had the place to myself. Shot a 77. Could have been lower, but I'll take it for not having touched my clubs for some time. Got cocky on 16, a par 5 that's reachable. Normally I'll lay up with a rescue club, as there is a creek that bisects the fairway at about 270. Decided to go for it today and pushed it right OB. Scrambled for bogey anyway. Missed a birdie putt on the front side of 4 feet. I could have cried. That was bad. 15th, a par 4, I pt my drive in the fairway bunker. Had 112 to the pin that was front right. Couldn't see the green in the bunker, just the top of the flag. I knew it was good when I hit it, but it ended up spinning back to 6 inches! Finally, makable birdie range for me! Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there! Mom just got a new car with a 6 disc changer, so she wanted rock 'n roll for Mother's Day. Now I'll have to show her how to work the 6 disc changer!
