Ok, sorry that I haven't been around in a week or so, but I had a slight medical issue, then had to get caught back up on work. Then this past weekend, I did something for the first time(non golf related) that was fantastic!
Here are some pictures from the weekend.

I, having a History degree, thought this was awesome. May even get into it a little more over the next few years.

Hope the medical issue wasn't anything serious, and you're back to good health.
Nice pics. .
The medical issue wasn't anything serious, but it was a pain in the a$$ (literally)

Haha... So you weren't washing your face from front to back back then, huh? I'm actually just thinking about shaving my head and being done with it.
Kev, did you guys do a lot of maneuvers and stuff? Was it somewhat realistic or pretty disorganized in your opinion.

ok, I don't really want to go into details, but it wasn't 'roids, I had an abscess lanced and drained, but it needed to be done in the ER. I have no dignity left, so everyone better watch out. LOL!!!
As for the Re-enactment, we did some maneuvers, fire by line, fire by company, fire by right oblique, some different types of marching, had to do the order arms, present arms, shoulder arms, right shoulder shift arms, support arms.
The company that I was part of, is the 105th PVI Co E ( 105th PVI ) and our weekends re-enactment was parts of the Battle of Fredericksburg. We got to fight the Confederates thru the little village for our morning battle. Then we did the charge at Marye's Heights for our afternoon battle. This was were I got to die gloriously in the field of battle.
Chris, I believe it was fairly realistic but since you are basically acting, you can make it as realistic as you want. One big thing was that you are not allowed to use the ramrods or bayonets during battle (safety issues) Something else, you'd be surprised how hot the barrels get just after a few rounds.
Bill, I could probably hit the ball pretty far, but, the first thing i'd have to be able to do would be to the ball.
Although, we didn't use Hawken rifles, we mainly using either 1861 Springfields and 1858 Enfields. I was using an 1842 US Percussion Smoothbore (.69 cal)

if you look at the full album, you will see a rebel with a big black beard carrying his musket by the barrel walking in bare feet. (he kinda looks like one of the hillbillies from Bugs Bunny's Hillbilly Hare cartoon (whirl whirl twist and twirl, jump around like a flyin squirrel)
