Golf is finally being looked at as a sport and a global sport. The Olympics will welcome the game in the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro. I nothing about golf in Brazil. I think the addition is great. Not crazy about the format of the tournament. Which is a little more team like a college tournament but still excited. How does everyone else feel about the addition?

I like the idea of golf getting a little more credit as a sport by being included in the Olypmics. But I'm not sure it will go over very well. Let's be honest. How many countries that compete in the games are big into golf? And how many golfers will the USA be able to enter? If it's like the other events, every country will get to send 3 or so players. And the last time I checked, A lot of countries don't have 3 golfers worth sending. Brings back memories of the Jamiacan Bobsled team a few years ago. They didn't have any snow to train on, so they rolled down the highway to train. And it was a complete joke. It wasn't the athelete's fault, but it wasn't competitive.

I think it should be held as a world match play (or something along those lines) - max 2 people from each country.
Do it on stableford 36 holes, and the top 10 countries go through to the final, where they play another 36 holes.
Don- the film you need to see if true running - all will be revealed!

I saw the movie. It was very good entertainment. But the movie shows exactly what I was saying. The team had never been down ANY bobsled track, EVER, and they were in the Olympics. And they almost got KILLED due to a total lack of training and experience on ice covered course. Is this what YOU want to see with the golf event? Every country can send 3 players, not matter how little they know about world class golf competition?
