TaylorMade Review: RAC LT Irons

Manufacturer: TaylorMade Golf

Details:

Purchase: Purchased from my local golf pro custom fit for $550.00 3-PW. I've been improving my game lately and wanted a forgiving club that would still allow me to work the ball.

Pros: This is a really sharp set of clubs. They do have just the right amount of forgiveness. Not too punishing if you don't hit the exact sweet spot, but enough feel to let you know if you've heeled or toed it. Have a mid-trajectory flight which is really nice in the wind. Really long with strong lofts. Dynamic Gold shafts as standard. Not too pricey for the amount of club. These have a reduced offset which allows working the ball.

Cons: I wasn't really thrilled with the grips that came standard, so I had them re-gripped with Lamkin Crosslines. Now they're perfect.

RAC LT Quality: Good quality and nice to look at too. Haven't had them very long, but I've always had good luck with Taylor Mades.

Summary: Really nice combination of forgiveness and workability. The RAC OS's were way too big, but I liked their forgiveness. These rein in some of that excessive size and give better feedback, without losing all the forgiveness. A great club to bridge the gap between a game improvement cavity back and blades as your game gets better.
