Titleist Review: 762 IronsManufacturer: Titleist Golf Pros: I have always been a fan of Titleist products. Years ago, I wanted to buy the 981's, but my ego got the best of me so I ended up purchasing the blade-like 990's. There were too many ups and downs with the 990's. One round I'd be shooting great scores and then some rounds when my swing was not perfect, I'd shoot not so great rounds. Since 990's were difficult to hit, I thought I'd try blades. So after selling the 990's, and owning Cleveland TA1's, Mizuno MP-14's, and Titleist forged blades, I decided to move back to a more forgiving blade. I recently purchased the very forgiving Ping I3 blades, but even though they were extremely forgiving, I wanted to own something more workable. I found the answer in the 762's. The 762's are slightly more forgiving than the 990's, but are also very workable. The best thing I like about the iron set is that it makes thin shots look good :) The feel is extremely good for a casted cavity back club. The consistency throughout the set is very good. If you are looking for accuracy, these irons are the best! Summary: If you are capable of hitting blades, but want a touch more forgiveness for more consistent scores, the 762's are the answer. The feel, workability and looks are great. I do not have any buyer's remorse after purchasing this set. My search for the perfect set is over. |
