Titleist Review: DCI 762 Irons

Manufacturer: Titleist Golf

Details:

Purchase: I purchased these irons at Golfmor in Norwalk CT. I bought them used for nearly half price. They were apparently returned that day by a gentlemen who could not get comfortable with them. They were used no more then 5 times, perfect condition. It was an unbelievable steal. I was going that day prepared to spend $700 dollars for these exact clubs and ended up only spending $375!

Pros: I absoultely love these clubs. They have a very clean and tradtional look at address and set up. Deffinately Titleist's most attractive looking DCIs yet. They play as great as they look. They set up and feel much like a blade but it has a deep cavity for forgiveness on mishits that is hidden behind the mylar insert. They are very heavy and the ball explodes of the face when struck. They hit long with a very high trajectory. I easily added 15 to 20 yards with these new DCIs over my last set of Ping Zings. If you are player who likes to work the ball it can be done with these irons but they tend to want to stay straigt when you put a good swing on them.

Cons: Was not a fan of the full cord grip at first but I have gown to appreciate and prefer them for my irons. They took some getting use to. Otherwsie I can't say I dislike anything about these DCIs. They are perfect

DCI 762 Quality: Lets face it, Titleist has been making quality products for a number of years and they live up to their reputation with this generation of DCI. Great traditional design, Dynamic Gold shafts, full cord grips. These irons ooze quality in your bag and they play the part.

Summary: I have not hit every iron out there, but I have hit quite a few and I must say the Titleist 762 DCI is by far in the front of the pack. If you are a real player or a mid to high handicap golfer like myself the DCI will benefit you. They have the playability of a blade, but the forgiveness of a cavity back. They are a heavy club that comes crashing down on the ball for explosive power and trajectory. If you do not feel comfortable with a heavy club or do not like the look of a blade I would stay away from these 762 and maybe try the Over Sized version. Overall it's what you would expect from Titleist, grade A equipment
