Wilson Review: Fat Shaft Irons
Manufacturer: Wilson Golf
Details:
Purchase: After renting the clubs while at a golf course in Las Vegas, I decided to look around for a set. I was used to swinging with a cheap set of irons, but after hitting the ball a bit straighter, I purchased a used set on eBay for approximately $180.00.

Pros: My long iron shots are straighter and I have gained a little more confidence playing with the irons.
Cons: The only complaint that I have is with distance. I am unable to hit with as much distance with my previous irons. I hit the ball with more consistancy but need to club up with each shot. If I usually use a seven iron for a shot, I will club up and grab a six iron. Since the shafts are considerably larger, the club is also a good bit heavier than clubs that I am used to playing.
Fat Shaft Quality: Definitely a high quality product. The clubs that I received came with Kelmac grips, which have such a tacky grip that I am unable to use a glove, otherwise there would be a hole in the glove by the end of the round.

Summary: To be honest, I am a beginning golfer at best. In the past, I would hit a good shot and then slice the nice shot like a piece of Velvetta. Since purchasing the Wilson Fat Shafts, I have been able to hit the ball with a little more consistancy. I am very pleased with the clubs and recommended the clubs to anyone that is looking to hit the ball straighter.
