Mizuno Review: T.P. Mills #8 Putter

Manufacturer: Mizuno Golf

Model: T.P. Mills #8
Category: Putters

Additional Details:

Purchase: I bought it from our pro shop for about 130 Euro (150$). My previous model was an old Callaway Carlsbad. I was looking for something with a similar feel bit with just a bit longer head for stability. Like the Callaway, the TP Mills is a classic style putter, no insert and relatively heavy.

Pros: I tried a number of models, a Ping with insert, the new blue Callaway and the Mizuno. I did not like the feel of the Ping insert, the Callaway felt fine but was very expensive. The TP Mills gave me just the same solid feel for a fraction of the cost.

Cons: Two things I did not like: - The putter head cover comes off a lot when you're carrying the bag around. So try playing in front of an honest flight. - The putter ages very quickly, is has some sort of decoratve (chrome?) plating which comes off in patches.

T.P. Mills #8 Quality: Apart from the two negatives above, this is a solid well made and well balanced putter.

Review & Rating Summary:
A solid, well balanced good value putter with good feel. It will soon look old (OK if you want that trusty old stick look). I've had it about a year now and today I just played a round with just 26 putts.
