Purchase: Purchased at Nevada Bob's Golf. Paid the going rate $149.99. I have tried just about every putter there is trying the get the *#%>!! ball in the hole. This is one of the few (literally) that I hadn't yet purchased or demo'd. I had purchased a Rossa CGB Fontana that I took back and exchanged for this stick. (The CGB Fontana had horrible feel out on actual greens. I had fallen in love with it on an indoor green, but Avoid it!)Now, on to the Craz-e-ness!
Pros: This putter just makes you swing the flatstick properly. The grip is so "tacky" it is like grip heaven. The face insert is perfect. Emits a light "click" at impact which you can also feel in your hands, yet has a softness that is pleasing to the senses, much like a "white hot" insert but with a tad more feel. They used their heads to make the headcover and used a magnet for the closure which will not wear out like velcro. Oh, did I mention alignment is almost an afterthought it is so easy to aim? Yep, great stuff.
Cons: Pricy. But, I look at it like this: I have been three putting probably 3 greens a round and my handicap has stayed at a 9. My math is terrible, but I think this will take me to a 6? We'll see...
Craz-e Heel Shafted Quality: American made! Holy #*!*. I thought every club was made in China these days. It feels like top notch quality. Like I said, the grip is awesome and the insert is about the best combo of soft and firm that I've experienced.
Review & Rating Summary: The Craz-e could almost be marketed as a training aid, it has helped my stroke so much in a very short while. I can pick up a blade style putter and put a pure stroke on the ball right after using the Craz-e. (And I'm not a good putter, hoping this changes things.) One thing I forgot to mention is the low center of gravity it has. It is much lower than other backweighted putters I have tried (and own) like the MacGregor M5K. Also, the relatively flat sole of the Craz-e allows it to be set down behing the ball without opening to the right like other backweighted putters. i could go on, but I'll just say I'm very impressed and pleased with my purchase.
