TaylorMade Review: Burner Rescue 2007 Utility Club

Manufacturer: TaylorMade Golf

Model: Burner Rescue 2007
Category: Utility Clubs

Additional Details: 22 degree loft. 115cc head. 61 degree lie angle. Pull face, square face angle. Taylormade 19.5' RE*AX SuperFast 65 Graphite regular-flex shaft. TaylorMade Arrow grip.

Purchase: I tried out this club at a TaylorMade demo day at a local range. The sales rep asked what I was looking for and why. I told him I was looking to replace my long irons and fairway wood with a hybrid with a 21-22 degree loft. He handed me this 4h Burner Rescue to try out along with a 4h R7 CGB Max rescue. But that's another review. Currently, the Burner Rescue sells for around $180.

Pros: It's an easy club to hit, and feels really light. The clubhead is comfortable to look at during address with a t-shaped outline from the face to the back. Contact with the ball is smooth and quiet.

Cons: For some odd reason, I just couldn't hit this consistently. Everything felt fine but the result was just a lot of pushed shots. It wasn't apparent when I tried the R7. I guess this Burner Rescue just wasn't for me.

Burner Rescue 2007 Quality: Quality of the club is great. Other than the scratches of the demo club, everything else seemed to have withstood the punishment of a million demo days.

Review & Rating Summary:
Would be a great club to match the right golfer. Unfortunately, it wasn't me.

Game Description: I've been playing golf for 2 and a half years now. Never took any formal lessons because of time. But there's always time for 18 holes. My weakest is the driver and fairway woods. I've given up on fairway woods and have always been on the lookout for a hybrid club.

Average Score For 18: Over 100
