Fees and Costs associated with this course:
In all honesty, I did not pay to play. I was visiting the Philippines on business and a friend of a vendor of mine invited me to play and he was a memeber of Valley Golf. I was not able to find this information online either, so here's some information about this course I found on another website:
Valley Golf Course spreads over 70 hectares of rolling hills and meandering brooks. The course straddles the Antipolo Hills.
It played host to the Philippine Open in 1975, 1983 and 1991. It was during the 1983 Philippine Open that American Jeff Lewis established the course record of 65. In 1991, Valley Golf for the first time, became the venue of the XVI Southeast Asian Games Golf Championship.
History of the golfer who played this course:
Been playing for about 10 years. I normally play well with my irons, but my driver is somewhat inconsistent and my putting is spotty. If I would get down to half the three putts I normally have I would drop about 9 strokes off my game.
Specific likes about this course:
General things I liked about the experience might be more appropriate. I don't remember all of the holes, but I do remember the course was quite challenging, yet fun. We were playing with caddies and a ball boy so no time was wasted looking for errant balls and these guys even read the greens for you. I never played a better game in my life. I believe I played to a 90 or something. Maybe 88, it was ridiculous how much easier that made it.
Dislikes about this course:
There wasn't anything I can think of that I didn't like. The weather was rediculously hot, and humid, but other than that the course was in great condition, the pace of play was good, the staff was great - and friendly. I had a great time, it was a very enjoyable event.
Is this course worth the fees?
As mentioned earlier, I did not pay at Valley Golf, so I'm not sure how much 18 w/cart costs. However, I found the facility and grounds to be in impeccable condition and was very pleased with perceived value.
19th Hole: What extra amenities did this course offer?
The pub / restaurant on site had great food (with great local favorites like Chicken Adobo) and ice cold San Mig - my favorite when traveling in the Philippines. Service was great.
Summary and opinions of this golf course:
Overall, I had a great day at Valley Golf. Everything was in great condition, the staff was friendly and courteous and I played probably the best round of golf of my life. What more can you ask for?
