History of the golfer who played this course:
I've been playing for 2 and a half years. This course is the first course I played at after a month of weedwacking.
Specific likes about this course:
This 3-par course is fun. The course is very hilly as it was built over a landfill. So if you're off the elevated greens, you've got to get your chipping game in check. The shortest hole is about 90 yards, and the longest is about 145 yards. Looks easy, but like I said, if you're not on the green, you'll be practicing your chipping. Pace of play always depends on the 3 groups ahead of you. Sometimes there are folks learning the game and take their time.
Dislikes about this course:
Some days the fairways are in very bad shape (mud puddles, or dead/dying grass). The course is relatively open (not a lot of tree lines), so stray shots do occur following with "FORE!" Some greens are next to the tee box for the next hole, so if the group in back of you hit it long, watch out.
Is this course worth the fees?
For the value of this 3-par course, it just can't be beat. It's great to practice your short game and putting. Some of the greens are tricky. The course and range are open during nights also. The course has night lights shining down over the tee and green. Just don't hit your ball into the dead dark zone else you'll never find your ball. The course holds a tournament almost every month, from 2-man scramble to glo-ball night (all lights are turned off except for various strategic locations). Driving range has automated ball tees with adjustable tee heights. Purchase your range card in the pro shop and head on out to the range. Stick your credit-card like range card into the machine, and your ball raises up on the tee. Hit the step next to the tee to adjust the rubber tee height. After you hit the ball, another ball raises up.
19th Hole: What extra amenities did this course offer?
The pro shop offers soft drinks, beer, chips and snacks, and hot dogs only. There are no restaurants or pub on site.
Summary and opinions of this golf course:
Good and economical place to play. Range is good to practice. Practice greens are nice and well maintained. Chipping area isn't the greatest and doesn't mimic the rough or 1st-cut greens. For little over $10 to play 18 holes just can't be beat in this economy.
