History of the golfer who played this course:
I have played on and off for 30 years. Just getting back into the game this year after a long break. I can hit 80 one day and 100 the next. Biggest challenge is short game.
Specific likes about this course:
We played this course on a Saturday. The course is 27 holes, and they start groups alternately on different courses (three 9 hole courses. 1-9 is the tournament course, 10-18 is the Baer course and 19-27 is the Players course. Very well organized.
Dislikes about this course:
There was nothing not to like at all on any of these courses.
Is this course worth the fees?
At almost $70 for 18 this is a medium priced course for the Chicago area. If you can afford it, sometimes it is better to spend the extra cash to play the nicer courses. Still no comparison to Kemper Lakes or Cog Hill.
19th Hole: What extra amenities did this course offer?
Schaumburg Golf CLub has all thge amenities one would expect from a regular course, plus multiple snack bars, beer girls and also an award winning restaraunt called Chandler's Chophouse, seating up to 350 persons. As well as private banquet and outing facilities.
Summary and opinions of this golf course:
We paid a little extra to play this course, I was impressed by the course, if for no other reason than the maintenance of the fairways and greens. The staff was top notch and very friendly. There was an organized but not a rushed aura about the course.
