History of the golfer who played this course:
I have been playing for close to ten years. Over the last couple years I have taken the game more seriously. I play about twice a week on my home course with the occasional road trip thrown in. I am currently a 13.3 handicap, but I had a good day at this course and shot an 82. 2 over on the front, 9 over on the back :(. My strengths are chipping, putting and my short irons. My weakness right now is off the tee. I went from hitting a consistent draw to a fade over the course of two months. So I am still trying to adjust to that. If it keeps up I guess I'll have to break down and take some lessons.

Specific likes about this course:
Loved the layout of this course. There are bunkers everywhere, so bring some sunscreen and an extra sand wedge. The course has some elevation changes that are not common to courses in this area, and it doesn't favor one shot off the tee more than another. Golfers that hit fades and golfers that hit draws have an equal amount of holes that will fit their eye. It offers a lot of risk/reward shots but more so from the fairways than off the tees. Holes 3, 7, 13 and 16 were particularly challenging.

Dislikes about this course:
The bunkers are in horrendous shape right now. It looks like they have had an ongoing problem with keeping the sand in them. The majority of the bunkers around the greens were roped off and free relief was given. Several of the fairway bunkers were roped off as well. However, they look to be on the right track with getting them in shape. One improvement they are making is that a lot of the steeper faced bunkers were getting sodded along the faces and sand was being left in the bottoms. From the looks of things, they should have a handle on the bunkers within a year's time.

Is this course worth the fees?
Absolutely worth the money. My friends and I took advantage of the courses "Stay-and-Play" package so we had a hotel room, breakfast, round of golf and unlimited range balls for less than $120 per person. Once they get their bunkers in shape, the weekend fee of $59.00 would be worth it. Until then, I'm happy to take advantage of the $35.00 twilight fee.

19th Hole: What extra amenities did this course offer?
There is a very nice bar in the club house that was well staffed. How can you complain when the beer is cold and the drinks are poured right? I did not take a look at the menu but food is offered.

Summary and opinions of this golf course:
I would certainly recommend this course to anyone interested in a cost effective golf get away. The service was great and the course was fun and challenging. The only thing I would change would be the bunkers and it looks like they are in the process of correcting them.
