Fees and Costs associated with this course:
The Greens Fee was $44 with cart on a Saturday. This is probably about average for weekend golfing.
History of the golfer who played this course:
I have played on and off for over 20 years. I have never got real serious about it as I go out to relax and have fun. I believe I have around a 30+ handicap, as I have never really looked at it, but I average around 105-110+. I don't really have a 'strength' as I am fairly inconsistent, but my longer irons/fairway woods seem the least inconsistent. Pitching and chipping are definitely my biggest weaknesses.
Specific likes about this course:
For a municipal course, Sleepy Hollow is by far the nicest courses I have played. The fairways were awesome, the greens were challenging. It had a very 'country club' feel to it.
Dislikes about this course:
The course was in fantastic condition, we even had to wait out a 30-45 minute down pour. Once the rain stopped, we started right back up again. I couldn't believe that there weren't very many puddles anywhere on the course, a couple of bunkers and some pooling, but the grass had just a few squishy spots but no standing water. Also, after the rain, a maintenance man was going around the course blowing any debris off the greens as well as blowing the water out of the cups.
Is this course worth the fees?
This was just a fantastic course to play. Price was reasonable.
19th Hole: What extra amenities did this course offer?
There was a banquet room as there seemed to be some type of shower going on. They had a snack bar, which I didn't use. And didn't see a pub/bar area. They did have a beer cart going around, at least before the rain.
Summary and opinions of this golf course:
This has to be one of the best courses I have ever played. It just had a feel, that I don't know if I can describe. Fun but challenging course. Very well maintained. Just an absolute great course to play.
