State: South Carolina
Country: United States

Design/Layout/Look Rating: 5
Challenge and Playability Rating: 10
Facility Condition: 8

Value: 8
Overall: 8.1

Fees and Costs:
$95+ depending on the time of year and package deals

Golfer History:
single digit handicap; playing 20+ years and now playing once a week. Driving and short game are some strengths of my game

Pros:
The Barefoot Resort courses are all upscale courses. The Norman course is no exception. The customer service is great and the course was in nice shape. Lots of bunkers, LOTS! Fairways can get tight and when the wind picks up, there are some very challenging holes. #10, Par 3, is really nice, backing up to the Intercoastal waterway but playing hard into the wind. 180 yards, downhill into a 2-3 club wind...tough challenge but fun.

Cons:
Greens were inconsistent and some needed repair. Heat damage. bunkers were over-sanded to me, to the point that your shoes sank into the sand (sometimes covering them) when you stood in the bunkers. That's a challenge for fairway bunkes.

Worth It?
I think in general it's a reasonable price for the Resort courses, but the other Barefoot options (Love, Fazio, Dye) are better plays for the price

19th Hole?
Very nice restaurant in the clubhouse. Full menu and bar.

Summary:
Overall, very nice course. Probably the least impressive of the 4 on premises but still nice and challenging. Not an easy course, 6500 yards from blue tees and 7100 from the back tees. Narrowing bunkers off lots of challenge off the tee and several holes have views of the intercoastal waterway
